02Not a Medicine
Statements on this website have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration or any other regulatory authority. Any traditional use of Shilajit mentioned on our website is a description of tradition, not a promise of a health result. Do not stop or replace any prescribed medicine or medical care because of anything you read here.
03Who Should Not Use Shilajit
Shilajit is not suitable for everyone. The table below explains who should avoid it and why. If you are unsure about your situation, speak to a doctor or pharmacist before you use our products.
| Group | Status | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Children and anyone under 18 | Do not use | There is limited research on the safety of Shilajit in children and teenagers. |
| Pregnant women, women planning pregnancy and breastfeeding mothers | Do not use | Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established. |
| People with high or low blood pressure, or heart disease | Ask a doctor | Shilajit may lower blood pressure and may interact with heart or blood pressure medicines. |
| People with diabetes | Ask a doctor | It may affect blood sugar levels and may interact with diabetes medication. |
| People taking blood thinners, or with a clotting or bleeding disorder | Ask a doctor | It may affect blood clotting or interact with anticoagulant medicines. |
| People with hemochromatosis or iron overload | Ask a doctor | Shilajit contains minerals, including iron, and the body may absorb too much. |
| People with autoimmune or overactive immune conditions (such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus) | Ask a doctor | It may stimulate the immune system and could worsen these conditions. |
| People with liver or kidney disease | Ask a doctor | These organs process what you take and may be affected, and blood sugar can also be affected. |
| People with hormone-sensitive conditions | Ask a doctor | Some people report hormone-related effects, such as acne, irregular periods or hair loss. |
| People with known allergies or sensitivities | Do not use | Allergic reactions to Shilajit are possible. |
| People taking any regular prescription medicine | Ask a doctor | Shilajit may interact with medicines, so a doctor or pharmacist should review your use. |
Do not use means we recommend you avoid the product. Ask a doctor means you should only use it if a healthcare professional has reviewed your condition and medicines and agreed it is suitable.
04Possible Side Effects
Some people may experience side effects, including:
- headache, dizziness or a sore throat;
- nausea, stomach upset, vomiting or diarrhoea;
- allergic reactions, such as rash, itching or swelling;
- hormone-related effects in some people, such as acne, changes to periods or hair loss.
Stop use and contact a healthcare professional if you notice any unusual symptom. Seek urgent medical help for signs of a serious allergic reaction, including swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing.
05Medicines and Interactions
Shilajit may interact with medicines, including those for blood pressure, diabetes, blood thinning and immune conditions. Tell your doctor or pharmacist that you are using Shilajit, and do not change your medication without their advice.
06Natural Product and Quality
Shilajit is a natural resin, so colour, texture, smell and composition can vary between batches. Raw, unpurified Shilajit from unknown sources can contain heavy metals or contaminants, which is why we use water-based purification and independent batch testing. Testing reduces risk but cannot make a natural product risk-free. We share lab reports for transparency, and they apply only to the batch tested.
07Results Vary
We do not guarantee any particular result. Individual experiences differ and depend on many factors, including age, health, diet, lifestyle and how a product is used. Any customer story, review or comment shown on our website reflects one person’s experience and is not typical of every user.
08Use as Directed
- Follow the usage guidance on our How to Use page and on your product label.
- Do not exceed the recommended serving.
- Keep out of reach of children, and store sealed in a cool, dry place.
- Do not use if the safety seal is broken or missing when you receive the product.
